The SCEA Teacher of the Month Contest Rules

  1. No purchase necessary.
  2. Teacher must be 21 years or older at date of nomination to be eligible to win. Teacher must also be employed by a SC public school district at the time of nomination as well as at the time that the teacher is recognized as a winner of the contest.
  3. Student or nominating individual must register online at myteacherrockssc.com to be eligible to win. Dates of eligibility are between 8/15/2011 and 3/24/2012 at midnight. FOX affiliates and The SCEA takes no responsibility for incomplete, lost or never-received entries due to computer malfunctions.
  4. Unless otherwise announced, one teacher will be selected each month as The SCEA Teacher of the Month for the months of September 2011, October 2011, November 2011, February 2012, March 2012 and April 2012. There is no cash prize associated with the contest – each recognized teacher will receive statewide exposure through a broadcast television and online campaign facilitated through the following FOX affiliates in SC: WACH, WFXB, WTAT and WHNS. The SCEA winners will be notified each month.
  5. The SCEA Teacher(s) of the Month will be selected each month by a panel of judges that will include representation from The SCEA, WACH FOX and other local community individuals. Decisions of this panel are final and non-contestable. If a teacher is nominated during a particular month but does not win during that month, that does not prohibit him or her from being considered for a subsequent month. Each teacher has the right to decline the recognition, in which case the panel will have a back-up teacher that will assume The SCEA Teacher of the Month recognition for that particular month.
  6. Additional:
    1. Only one registration for the contest is necessary-separate individuals may submit the same teacher for consideration. However, if one individual submits the same teacher for consideration multiple times that does not increase the chances for consideration.
    2. Winners will be posted each month on the contest website. At the conclusion of the contest in April 2012, a full list of winners can be requested by submitting a request in writing, accompanied by a self-addressed envelope, to: WACH FOX, Attn: Zach Cox, 1400 Pickens St., Columbia, SC 29201.
    3. Odds of being selected will depend on the number of monthly entries.
  7. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use the winner's name and likeness and voice recordings for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
  8. Contestant substitutions are prohibited. 
  9. The SCEA or included partners may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion.
  10. The SCEA or included partners reserves the right to discontinue the contest or alter any rule or rules or portion or part thereof. Rules may be changed or added in whole or in any part. Any changes will go into effect immediately without notice. 
  11. Compliance with Law. The conduct of the Contest is governed by the applicable laws of the Unites States of America, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary herein. Station(s) shall follow the applicable laws for conducting contests. The SCEA and participating partners reserves the right to disqualify any individual that tampers with the promotional process or impairs the integrity of the campaign.
